CCC #31 - Rusted Enamel Technique

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #31 (pg. 41)
This is actually the 2nd time I have used Tim's Rusty Enamel technique and I love the way it looks.

For Studio L3's challenge I used the rusted enamel technique for the backgrounds of a tag (first photo) and an ATC (2nd photo). The first one is my favorite because you can really see the effect. The second one I did on a piece of cardboard and ultimately it was too dark to really show off the technique. My advice for this technique is to start out with a light background, use a bright color to cover the piece and a very dark brown for the rusting part.

The Circus was in Town

This photo is of a Grunge Book I made last year. It was the first technique I tried from Tim's book and I instantly loved it!

  4. Wow, Marnie, your rusted grunge looks incredible! You've really mastered the technique, and designed such great pieces to complement it! I LOVE your vintage sensibilities-- the "Time" tag is steampunk perfection, and the "Circus" card is chock full of great imagery. And that grunge book is FABULOUS! Great job!
